Geology


Geology is the branch of science that studies the solid and liquid materials that make
 up the Earth's structure. A branch of geosciences, this department studies information
 about the composition, structure, physical properties, history, and mechanisms of the
 Earth's formation. It also helps in identifying the locations of petroleum, coal and 
metals like iron, copper, uranium and natural resources in the earth.

Also, geology helps in extracting precious gemstones and minerals like asbestos,
 mica, feldspars, clay, quartz, silica from the earth. This department also provides 
a way to explore the ancient history of the Earth.
