Water on earth

Iguazu Falls between Brazil and Argentina

Water is a chemical compound formed from hydrogen and oxygen.
Water plays an important role in all stages of life [25]. Water in the widely used
hydrosphere covers 71% of the Earth's surface as ice in the solid state and water vapor
 in the gaseous state.
Most of the water in the Earth's oceans and aquifers, 1.6% is hydrogen underground,
0.001% is water vapor in the air, clouds, and sediments[27][28]. Oceans make up 97% of
water. 0.6% water in rivers, lakes, and ponds, 2.4% water in hot springs, glaciers,
and poles, water is found in the bodies of living beings and in manufactured products.
